Laghi di Colbricon
The Lakes of Colbricon are located in the Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino Nature Park, between Rolle Pass and Colbricon Pass. They are surrounded by a striking Alpine landscape, with Colbricon Mountain Range standing to the southwest, Cima Stradon peak to the west and Cavallazza-Tognazza Mountain Range to the southeast. Further east, the Pale di San Martino mountain range stand out against the horizon.
The most direct route to the lakes is from Malga Rolle, although they can also be accessed from Malga Ces, above San Martino di Castrozza. Numerous hikes can be enjoyed in the valleys and nearby mountains. The Colbricon Alpine mountain-hut can be reached on foot, taking a medium-difficulty path, and is open from June to September. The entire area was venue of numerous operations during the First World War.
