Safety information
Choose the route according to your experience and your physical preparation: start with short distances first!
The more, the merrier: leaving alone for a hike can be risky, travel with at least one other person, the experience of a Trekking is better when shared with friends and family!
Program your Trekking in advance, check trails and paths on the maps, have a look online to find out more about your itinerary, ask somebody who already walked the same route.
Prepare your backpack: have a look at our check-list to be sure you already packed all the equipment you may need during the Trekking!
Don’t forget to check the weather forecast.
If you really want to try the experience of a Trekking but you don’t feel ready to do it by your own, just ask one of our Alpine Guides!
Try to estimate an average journey-time of every route, considering the physical condition of each member of the group.
Inform the Hut owner or who is waiting for you at home about your time of arrival and the itinerary.
Keep your eyes open: while you’re walking, check the number of each footpath, but don’t forget to enjoy nature and its magic!
A plan B is always a good idea! Organize an alternative route in case of bad weather or unforeseen event: go back if it’s necessary, play it safe!

From there, walk down to Val Venegia through the pasture of Pian della Vezzana (2.010 m.a.s.l.) to gradually go up following the 749 path to “Passo di Venegiota”. Take the path on the right and continue on the 751 track following the trail n. 2 of the Alta Via Dolomiti route, which runs along the eastern side of Mulaz to finally reach the Mulaz Hut (2.571 m.a.s.l.). If you leave in the afternoon, as an alternative it is possible to take a faster route to get to the Hut: follow the 710 path called “Quinto Scalet” which from Pian della Vezzana goes up to Passo del Mulaz (2.619 m.a.s.l.) and then descend to the Mulaz Hut. Once on the Pass called Passo del Mulaz, it is possible to reach the top of the mountain (2.906 m.a.s.l.) following the tracks and the red trail signs for about 40 minutes to finally enjoy the wonderful panorama of the entire mountain range of Pale di San Martino and the surrounding peaks.

From the Mulaz Hut (2.571 m.a.s.l.) climb up heading South and the saddle called Forcella Margherita (2.655 m.a.s.l.) following the 703 path, at the bottom of Cima del Focobon. After about 30 minutes, take the via ferrata which leads to Passo delle Farangole (2.814 m.a.s.l.) to descend along the Val Grande heading to Val delle Comelle, following the the trail n. 2 of the Alta Via Dolomiti route up to an altitude of 2.290 metres above sea level. Walk on the slight slope which runs along the northern side of Val delle Comelle, to reach the so called Pian dei Cantoni (2.313 m.a.s.l.) and then climb up to the Rosetta Hut (2.581 m.a.s.l.). Possible variation: from the Val Grande, before walking down the gorge of Comelle, take the 716 path heading to the bivouac called Bivacco Brunner (2.667 m.a.s.l.) and then climb up to Cima della Vezzana (3.192 m.a.s.l., the highest peak of Pale di San Martino) on the via ferrata called Gabitta d’Ignoti.
