Safety information

Always read carefully the avalanche and weather bulletins before starting the hike; evaluate and carefully plan your path and do not follow unknown tracks; in case of need, call 118 and don’t move as you wait for the rescue team to arrive. To be on the safe side, prior to beginning the hike, contact the local alpine guides:

Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this page may have changed. Before leaving for a tour, make sure the path you will approach is still accessible by contacting the owner of the mountain hut, the alpine guides or the visitor centres of the nature parks, the info offices of the local tourist board.

Take the forest road that starts 100 meters before Lake Calaita (you’ll find signposts on the spot) and follow it for roughly 1 km, then take the path on the right which goes into the woods (you’ll find signposts on the spot). Follow the path that climbs, along with some bends, until you get to a meadow where above you’ll see the Grugola pastures (no refreshment point). Continue climbing up the pastures where you can enjoy a wonderful view.

To return down, take the forest road that can be seen at the bottom of the meadow on the right; follow this path and you’ll return to the starting point.
