Safety information

Always read carefully the avalanche and weather bulletins before starting the hike; evaluate and carefully plan your path and do not follow unknown tracks; in case of need, call 112 and don’t move as you wait for the rescue team to arrive. To be on the safe side, prior to beginning the hike, contact the local alpine guides: www.aquilesanmartino.com

Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this page may have changed. Before leaving for a tour, make sure the path you will approach is still accessible by contacting the owner of the mountain hut, the alpine guides or the visitor centres of the nature parks, the info offices of the local tourist board.

Turn-by-turn directions

Departing from the Malga Rolle (1,900 m), you descend to the starting point of the Paradiso chairlift from which you can clearly see the signs for the Colbricon lakes, path no. 348., moving to the top of the Paneveggio forest, with centuries-old red fir and larch trees and Cimbri pines. Upon reaching the Colbricon Lakes and the retreat of the same name (1,927m - closed in winter) one can admire the wonderful views of the Colbricon peaks where you’ll admire Stradon and Cavallazza, which were the theatre of the Great War and the Dolomite mountain groups: the Pale di San Martino, Marmolada, Catinaccio and Latemar.

The return to Passo Rolle is via the same route.
